Do you know the where, how, and why of your system
Documentation covers all forms of assistance for all users, from the guides available on "hover" to bound manuals, but whatever the form it needs to be applicable to the type of user - a data entry clerk,  a monitor,  a trainer,  a system administrator, an IT co-ordinator, or the I.T. Director.
Hard copy manuals are no longer recommended as updates can be too frequent, but up to date guides on screen with search facilities can be invaluable to staff.
